So, we already know that you have a general idea of how you'll do your Valentine's Day makeup look, but the special day is quickly approaching and it's certainly time to put the rest of your outfit together. Whether going on a date with your significant other of a long time, a first date with a new love interest, attending a high school dance, or having a night out with your BFFs, we love Valentine's Day (no pun intended) because it's a perfect excuse to rock a dress.

While you can certainly wear any type or color of dress that your heart desires (pun intended!) on V-Day, black (think LBD), red, pink, and purple tend to be the colors of choice for the holiday. Since Valentine's Day is especially known for red, check out our favorite looks below to rock the radiant color and stand out no matter where you are on February 14th. With Valentine's Day right around the corner, we know that it means that it's also time for Sweetheart Dances! So, to make sure that all of our Roo Girls are ready to go, we wanted to pick out our favorite sweetheart dance dresses for a fun night of celebrating V-day. Last year, we showed you both red and pink dresses that could be worn to a Sweetheart Dance, but this year there's so many absolutely gorgeous red dresses that we're obsessing over the classic V-Day color. Check them out below!

Dave & Johnny style 10456 has us gushing for Valentine's Day! This short tulle dress is so perfect for V-Day with its high illusion neckline, sequin bust, cap sleeves, illusion back, and little bits of lace around the neckline. It's a great combination of glam and sultry for a Sweetheart Dance.

Terani style P3003 is a perfect pick for lots of pretty lace, tulle, and the so popular sheer. This strapless sweetheart dress has a flared mesh skirt and sheer bodice that's accented with lace appliqué and is great if you're looking for more of a classic prom-style look for your Sweetheart Dance dress. This dress also comes in an Ivory/Nude color, so if you want to stay away from the classic red V-Day look, this dress may be for you. Ivory and White dresses are definitely a perfect way to still show your love for the holiday if you don't like red!

For a fitted cocktail dress look, we love Sherri Hill style 21185. It's a unique cocktail dress with an asymmetrical neckline and funky embellished one sleeve dress. With a form fitted mini skirt, this dress is sure make an impression. This dress comes in so many different colors other than the Red/Nude color above: Black/Nude, Navy/Nude, and Nude. An LBD is also always a great option for a Sweetheart Dance, so choosing this dress in the Black/Nude color option is definitely a great choice, as well! Since it's an event to celebrate Valentine's Day, we recommend picking a red or pink dress. Purple or white are also great colors to choose if you want to show some Valentine's Day love but don't like the traditional red or pink. If those four hues don't work for you, black is always a staple color that you can wear to any event!

As far as the type of dress goes, choose a strapless/sleeveless cocktail dress. You can either go with the traditional fitted cocktail dress, or choose one that flares out at the waist for a more flowy look.
