  • Teen Sisters Invent Lux Makeup Brand Nudestix!

With natural looking and time-saving makeup trends on the rise, there is no surprise a new ultra luxurious makeup brand that combines both would have hit shelves in sleek, black tins of heaven soon enough. However, it is a little surprising this insanely awesome concept was designed and launched by two teenage sisters! Yes, that's correct, 15 and 17 year-old Ally and Taylor Frankel are the young, fresh faces and minds behind Nudestix. Nudestix is a new collection of creamy crayons that are easy to apply, blend and are almost like a lipstick, eyeliner, blush and shadow all in one. Perfectly portable in a tin with a mirror and a sharpener, for about $24, you are "selfie" sufficient with this brilliant brand!

Teen Sisters Invent Lux Makeup Brand Nudestix! How did teen sisters invent lux makeup brand Nudestix? Ally and Taylor have the genetic makeup for makeup, if you will. Their mother is Jenny Frankel, a successful beauty executive for over 20 years who took some time off from work to spend more time with her girls. Mom started noticing the nontraditional approach her girls used when applying makeup and started asking some questions. Her curiosity and past experience, along with the girls' passion to create something in their words where "crayola meets Chanel," inspired something huge! Together they came up with the user-friendly collection that is  also easy on the wallet. Although each crayon is around $24, each one can be used for multiple things. The girls especially love the highlighters because they can also be used as liners or for contouring. They have the perfect amount of gold according to which color you choose!

Teen Sisters Invent Lux Makeup Brand Nudestix! These girls are definitely revolutionizing the way we think about and use makeup. From using multiple brushes and wearing layers of concealers and powders to swiping a crayon, smudging some lines, and maybe adding some mascara, they are encouraging natural, fresh faces everywhere. Young models now are baring their natural skin and using makeup to enhance their features, not cover them up. Ally and Taylor set out to do the same and we think they have the right idea! You can purchase Nudestix at Space NK.

  • Makeup Monday: Au Natural Illuminated Beauty

The Spring and Summer 2014 beauty spectrum is taking us from the very bold to the very natural. This new trend or "non-trend" of natural beauty has models, celebs, and street trend setters walking about with "barely there" natural painted faces. They are still wearing makeup, but this time it is only to conceal certain flaws, give extra definition to specific features, and bronze skin to give it a fresh, dewy glow!

The Chloe model above is shown wearing MAC cosmetics and only has on the minimal. Makeup artists only used a sculpting cream to highlight her brow and cheekbones and a cream color base in bronze to give her face some little hints of color. Wow! She looks gorgeous! Perfect for a day at the beach in one of our rompers!

Very Natural Emilio Pucci Model Very Natural Emilio Pucci Model

"A strong girl who is naturally beautiful and doesn't need make-up," Lisa Butler said of the inspiration for the makeup of Emilio Pucci. We couldn't agree more with this philosophy. We think this beauty trend is empowering for all young women everywhere to finally embrace their own natural beauty and use makeup to accent their features instead of hiding them. The model above is only wearing MAC's face and body foundation in a shade slightly darker than her own to provide more glow, and natural shadows across the lid. The best part of this trend is not doing your hair! Use a dab of oil for frizzy strands or apply volumizing cream at the scalp and toss hair softly for beach like waves!

  • Ways to get Perfect Prom Skin

Prom is approaching fast and with the school year coming to an end, everything is piling up and we're sure you're overwhelmed with stress. Unfortunately, stress comes with an unwelcomed guest...zits! Before you start panicking and trying a million types of cleansers and creams, why not try to avoid mother nature and end it before it starts?

Many people don't realize it all starts from the inside. What you eat shows on your skin, and your skin needs vital nutrients to keep it healthy and clear. You're only weeks away from prom so let's get started now! Below are some of the best foods to eat to have immaculate skin. Follow these suggestions and you'll be the most confident person on the dance floor!

    Water

    Woman Drinking Glass of Water

We put water first for a reason..it's the most important! Drinking 8-10 cups a day is a healthy amount to keep in mind. Just making a simple switch from sugary soda to water can do wonders! By flushing out all those toxins out of your body, it'll help accelerate the healing process of any current blemishes and help prevent new ones.

    Fish (Omega 3s)

Eating fish is awesome for your skin! Fatty fishes like salmon are loaded with Omega 3s and they're anti-inflammatory. Once or twice a week should do the trick.

    fish oil

Not a big fan of fish? There are other ways to get Omega 3s like walnuts, beans, fish oil pills, and flax-seed oil. Fish oil pills are also great to take as part of your work out plan.

    Whole Grains

Fiber-packed whole grains work like a charm! Whole grain carries a lot of antioxidants. Highly-processed grains like white bread don't carry the antioxidants that helps fight acne. Be careful picking "Whole Grain" foods. Look for the nutrition label and make sure it's low in sugar and high in fiber. Some packaging labels can be misleading.

    Lots of Green Veggies

    Vegetables Face

Leafy greens contain lots of fiber and antioxidants, as well. All the nutrients you need to have a healthy glow to your skin. Maybe it's time to start listening to mom and start eating those veggies!

    Green Tea (Antioxidants)

    green tea

Another easy way to get antioxidants is just by drinking green tea! Besides all the health benefits from green tea, it helps prevent pimples. It's an anti-inflammatory. But, beware of the sugary bottled green tea!
