We can't believe 2014 is coming to a quick end, and 2015 is almost here! We're sure you're deep in holiday 2014 shopping, but Pantone, the world-renowned authority on color, is one step ahead of you and is ready to bring on 2015! Pantone has named its Pantone Color of the Year 2015 recently, and it is... Marsala!

Marsala is the Pantone Color of the Year 2015

Never heard of the color Marsala before? It's a deep red that will surely get you even more into the Holiday 2014 mood! Pantone describes it as:

"A naturally robust and earthy wine red, Marsala enriches our minds, bodies and souls....The impactful, full-bodied qualities of Marsala make for an elegant, grounded statement color when used on its own or as a strong accent to many other colors."

Whether rocking this color for the holidays, prom, or any other semi-formal or formal event, this is definitely a color to stand out in. Leatrice Eiseman, the Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute, described, "Marsala is a subtly seductive shade, one that draws us in to its embracing warmth." Want to see how you can bring this color into your own wardrobe this year? Below are our for favorite Marsala colored dresses: two for the holidays and two for prom.

  • Dress of the Week: La Femme 18529

This week for our Dress of the Week, we picked out our favorite green prom dress in honor of St. Patrick's Day! We love La Femme style 18529 because even the color screams St. Paddy's Day - it's called Shamrock Green!

The beaded V-straps and woven front give this dress such a unique look. But, we especially love the subtle ombre and cutout back - it couldn't make this dress any more on-trend!

If you love the dress, but not sure you're ready to join in on the green color trend, it also comes in colors Sapphire Blue and Yellow. The dress looks absolutely beautiful in all 3 of the colors!

  • Green for St. Patrick's Day

St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner, and that means it's time to put lots of green on! We love this holiday of course because it's a perfect excuse to wear a cute dress. When it comes to showing some St. Paddy's Day pride, your look doesn't have to be head-to-toe green, but with Emerald Green being the 2013 Color of the Year, could you ask for a better time to show off your on-trend style? We didn't think so. Nothing says St. Patrick's Day better than a Little Green Dress, so check out our favorites for the holiday below!

Our favorite dress for St. Patrick's day is Sherri Hill style 21131 in lime green. The neon green color is so perfect for standing out in the sea of green that you're bound to be in on this day, and the bandage fabric is super figure flattering. Best of all, since neon is so on-trend right now, it's the perfect dress to wear time and time again in the spring and summer months.

If neon isn't your thing and you'd rather go with a darker green dress, La Femme style 15907 is a great option.  It's a net pleated short dress with a V shaped front and back. The toned-down green color makes it easy to wear for any other event you may have once St. Patrick's Day has come and gone.

Want to rock the Color of the Year, Emerald Green? Sparkle style 71192 is not only good for that, but also for getting two looks in one! This fun and flirty hi-lo cocktail dress features a strapless neckline, all over sequin body and a removable short tulle over-skirt with a satin bow at the waist. What a perfect way to not only have a dress for St. Paddy's Day, but to rock the on-trend look at Prom, too!

Hopefully this St. Patrick's Day will be a warm one, but if it's cold, wearing black stockings with your dress is a great way to finish off the look and stay a little warmer for the day.

  • Emerald Green Fashion Trend

While our store's always decked out in pink, we're also a huge fan of the color green here at Rissy Roo's because the local high school's color in the town our store's in (we're right behind the high school!) is green. So, we were of course excited when Pantone named emerald green their color of the year for 2013! A color that's abundant in nature, the lush, vibrant hue is said to instil balance and harmony.

Pantone's 2013 Color of the Year

It's the end of the first month of the new year, but the color is already everywhere! Celebrities like Zoe Saldana and Alicia Keys wore the color, and it will undoubtedly be seeing many more trips down the red carpet, so keep a look-out. It's a great color to wear on anything from your nails to a winter jacket, so make sure to give it a go in your outfits. As a rule of thumb, emerald green and black always work together, but you can also pair it with white and other shades of green.

With prom right around the corner, it's also a perfect color to choose for your dress. Wearing this exuberant color is without a doubt a great way to stand out from the crowd, and show off your keen fashion sense, too! Since we're so excited about this year's go-to color, we picked out or favorite 3 emerald green prom dresses - check them out below!

    2. Panoply style 14573 - A strapless sweetheart mermaid evening gown with a low torso sequin bodice, chunky A.B. rhinestone bust trim and a full tulle mermaid skirt with a side front slit.
