  • Five Girls You Meet in College

Around this time of year, I begin to get nostalgic. I think about all the people going to college, leaving home for the first time, getting to know all kinds of people and new experiences, it’s sensory overload. You can become easily overwhelmed. It’s all part of life.College Girl Holding Textbook

Some will leave you a better person, and you will end up learning things about yourself that you never knew before. Others will test your patience, which is pretty important. Your limits will be defined during this time of your life. It is best to think of these individuals as ‘lessons’ instead of ‘jerks’.

Many people you meet will bring out the best in you. They will bring you out of your shell and get you thinking about possibilities you never thought of before. You might even meet your future business partner. In any case, it is going to be a time when you discover more about yourself than ever before.

Some people will be with you for life, others will fall away rather quickly. In the grand scheme of things, it may not be so important. As you arrive at your first class up until you get to your first off-campus apartment there are some people you’re likely to encounter. Continue reading

I get it, girls. There's always that one person in your class that you end up drooling over, daydreaming about, casually clicking on their Facebook page - yeah, I'm an expert at this. During my high school years, I had a huge crush on a guy named James. I loved everything he did. His stupid jokes, his snort when he laughed, the way he played the drums and his disheveled curly hair.boy-girl-love-heart-sweet-lovers-valentines-day-1920x1200  I was the tomboy in school, who was always seen as one of the guys. • Fun Spring Break Ideas For Every Budget

Your friends have talked about it for months planning away and setting up airfares and  tours for their awesome spring break getaway to a tropical destination. However, given the astronomical price of the trip, you will not be joining. There is no reason to be bummed out, though - a lot of girls spend spring break at home or on campus for many different reasons. So, for those hanging back, we came up with some ways to fill up your week without emptying your wallet, all while still enjoying your time like you were away on vacation! Read on for some fun and simple Spring Break ideas.

    Spring Break

    Road Trip It

Just because you didn't plan a lavish resort getaway doesn't mean you have to stay in the house all week. Grab a buddy and take a road trip to somewhere you haven't been in a while, possibly even to a family member's or old friend who moved away. This way, you could save cash on a place to stay. The trip will give you a chance to bond with someone, and have a real adventure. Remember to pack a cooler with drinks and snacks so you don't have to spend money on the road.

    Road Trip

    Volunteer

Be a do-gooder! Use your week off to do something to benefit others by volunteering somewhere like a community center, nursing home, or animal shelter. It's a great way to spend your week, and you'll for sure feel like it was time well-spent. For a list of places looking for help, check out www.volunteermatch.org.

    Spend Time Outdoors

Use the good weather to your advantage by getting a new outdoor hobby like bike riding or hiking. Take it to the beach and play volleyball or Frisbee in the sand! Make it an all day event by having a picnic or barbecue with family or friends. Not only is this good for your mind, but good for your body, too!

    Beach Volleyball

    Spring Cleaning

Rainy day? Spend some time inside spring cleaning! Go through your closet and make a pile of clothes you know you are never going to wear again. Then, donate the clothing to charity or bring higher priced items to a consignment shop. You will feel refreshed after you eliminate clutter and have room to buy some new Summer stuff.

    Focus on YOU!

Our last Spring break idea is to make sure to take some hardcore "you time." Be selfish for a few days and focus only on yourself. Catch up on sleep, or dive into a book you have always wanted to read. Learn something new by taking a dance or cooking class. The possibilities are endless!

We recently made a blog post about ways to avoid the summer heat and humidity and one of the ways included going to the movies! A movie date with friends, family or a significant other is definitely exciting and something to look forward to! If you're stuck on what you should see, here are some summer blockbusters that you need to check off your movie list!

Number one on our list is definitely The Great Gatsby! The Great Gatsby premiered on May 10, 2013. It's a very modern translation of the classic literature book from the Flapper Era, however, it still represents the "Classic" feel that is portrayed in the book. Definitely a must-see, especially if you love fashion! And, if after seeing the movie, you decide you want to rock that 1920s look, just check out our blog post on fashion inspiration from The Great Gatsby.

No matter how old you are, you are never too old to see a Pixar movie! Ever since Monsters Inc. first came out, everyone has been anxiously waiting for a sequel (or in this case a prequel)! Thankfully, on June 21, 2013 Monsters University premiered. It's a great family movie and it will keep you laughing the whole way through!

    grown-ups2

Grown Ups was a HUGE success in 2010, therefore, it's no surprise that they made a sequel to the movie! Grown Ups 2 premiered on July 12, 2013. This movie is full of laughs and great actors. I mean, how could it not be funny? Adam Sandler is in it! He is one of the funniest actors and he also produced the movie! If you're a fan of comedy I would definitely suggest seeing Grown Ups 2!

    nowy ou see me

Who isn't a fan of magic? I know I am! Now You See Me premiered on May 31, 2013 and it focuses on four magicians who pull off some pretty extreme magic tricks, like robbing a bank. This movie will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat, and it has a very unexpected ending. But, then again, when it comes to magicians you should expect the unexpected, right?

Lastly, One Direction: This Is Us, has many many people (especially their girl fandom) looking forward to seeing what concert life is like for the boy band. Following in the footsteps of Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus and other artists, the movie will be revolving around their life on tour. It should definitely be interesting and very insightful! The movie premiers on August 30, 2013 and we're definitely looking forward to it.

What are some movies you're looking forward to seeing this summer?
